MLB Trade Rumors part one
It’s been a busy couple days on the MLB Hot Stove.
We’ve seen Adrian Gonzalez traded to the Boston Red Sox. We watched the Washington Nationals sign Jayson Werth to a seven-year, 6 million contract. And that’s before the annual Winter Meetings, which start today in Orlando.
One of the big names who’s most likely to find a new home this week is Kansas City Royals’ ace Zack Greinke. The 2009 AL Cy Young winner has two years left on his contract, and the Royals don’t expect to be playoff contenders before he hits free agency, so they’re trying to maximize their return by dealing him now, where to buy MLB Jerseys? maybe ujersy is a good choice.
Below are 10 hypothetical deals that could be made for Greinke, one for each team. I did my best to make them realistic, but remember that it’s all only speculation.
Before we get into the deals, though, we have to ask: What can we expect from Greinke in 2011-2? He may never again match his 2.16 ERA from 2009, but he’s far better than the 4.17 mark he posted in 2010.
His 3.34 FIP is much closer to his true talent level, and at 27, he still might get better.
Eleven Wins Above Replacement is probably a fair expectation for Greinke over the next two years, though barring injury, he could go way beyond that.
In return for Greinke, the Royals want ”two young pitchers with Greinke-like potential in any trade for their ace,” according to FOXSports.com’s Ken Rosenthal, so I tried to include promising young pitchers in my proposed deals whenever possible.
Texas Rangers
The Texas Rangers are regarded as the favorites to land Greinke, regardless of whether or not they re-sign Cliff Lee. What would it take to bring him to Arlington?
The centerpiece of this deal would be right-hander Tanner Scheppers. Baseball America called him the 42nd-best prospect in the game before the 2010 season, and now says he has the best fastball and curveball in the organization. Scheppers, 23, posted a 3.0 K:BB ratio in 80 innings between Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Oklahoma City this year.
Joining him in Kansas City would be 24-year-old righty Tommy Hunter, a starter with 251 innings of big-league experience. He went 13-4 with a 3.73 ERA in 2010, if you want to buy Houston Colts Jerseys, go to ujersy.
New York Yankees
The New York Yankees are going to upgrade their rotation this winter. That’s not a question, it’s a fact—the Yankees always get what they want. If they miss out in the Cliff Lee sweepstakes, you can bet they’ll be in on Greinke.
Leading off this trade for the Yankees is Dellin Betances. The Yankees would undoubtedly like to sell …

MLB: Cardinals weren't messing with of Brewers regarding seating

MLB question by Secret Political Advisor: What is the best route to visit every MLB Stadium?
I’m planning a trip for the 2012 MLB Season, to visit every MLB Stadium (it’s been my lifelong dream) by automobile. I am willing to start at any ballpark, and although I’ve been to Citi Field and Rogers Centre before, I don’t mind going again. I was thinking starting in Miami, going to Tampa, then Atlanta, Then DC and Baltimore, Philadelphia, Citi Field, Yankees Stadium, Fenway, then go to Rogers Centre, then around to Comerica and so on. Does this sound like a good plan?

Ok lets say for sake of argument you live in central NJ hop on I-78 west to the Allentown area.
Take the PA turnpike south and then west Get off at Breezewood PA there are several chain hotels. Leave 9am for a Pirate day game.In theory it is possible to see a night game In Cleveland the same day but I wouldn’t. You want to enjoy yourself. Overnight Days Inn North Olmstead Ohio (a western suburb of Cleveland).Sightsee in Cleveland. There are several nice attractions including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Indians game that night Btw if you are a book lover be sure to stop into Mac’s Backs there are tons of off-the -wall offerings and the occasional poetry reading.its a great place.
Return to I-70 next up Great America Park you can make Cincinnati in about 7 hours see the Reds.
St louis is only 5 to 6 hours. Continue west to Kansas City and the Royals again about a 6 hour drive. That is as far west as you go on this trip.Heading northeast you have Omaha 3 hours out. Sightsee. don’t laugh, the Omaha Zoo is in the top 10 in the nation for example. Now take I-70 east 2 hours to Des Moines. Overnight. From there your next stop is Chicago you can choose the Cubs or White Sox but they are almost never in town at the same time. 7 hour drive Overnight 2 nights sightsee Chicago leave 4 pm for Milwaukee Brewers 2 hours 2 and a half at most next stop is Detroit Tigers 6 hour drive from Chicago Via I-80 Overnight Comfort Inn Maumee Ohio (a suburb of Toledo) Leaving Toledo take I-75 south to US50 east stay on 50 and it becomes New York Avenue in Washington DC see the Nationals Beltway north to I-95 and Baltimore continue north on I-95 into NJ
Trip totals ( Boston optional, after a trip this long what’s another 6 hours RT up 95?)
10 Games in 15 days. That is more than enough for even the biggest fan.
What a great photo!
